New Year's Day Public Holiday
Today is New Years Day, a public holiday, and most South Burnett businesses will either be closed today or operating on restricted hours.
Yarraman New Year's Day Festival
Yarraman will be ringing in the New Year with a four-hour News Years Day Festival at the Yarraman Recreation Grounds off the New England Highway just west of the CBD from 5:00pm until 9:00pm this evening. The Festival will feature lots of great family fun including live music; market stalls; a licensed bar; hot food and beverages; and a range of inexpensive amusement rides for children including jumping castles, a slide, a climbing rock wall and dodgem cars (rides are $3 each, 5 for $12 or $20 for an unlimited rides armband). Fire-fighting superhero Blazer The Bear will be putting in an appearance at 6:00pm and there'll also be a big fireworks display around 8:00pm. The Festival is run by the Yarraman Progress Association and co-sponsored by Toowoomba Regional Council. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
