47th Battalion Rugby League - Kingaroy
Day 1 of the 47th Battalion Rugby League Carnival at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Kingaroy. Eight men's teams and six women's teams in action. Come along and support the Burnett Brahmans and the Wide Bay Bulls. Admission is $5. Bar and canteen will be running.
Dance - Inverlaw Hall
- A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied from CDs and there'll be the usual supper and novelty dances, along with a Lucky Door draw and a raffle. Proston Men's Shed

Boots & Beanies Trivia Night - Upper Yarraman
- The Upper Yarraman Hall Committee will be running a Boots & Beanies Trivia Night at their hall in Upper Yarraman from 6:00pm until late this evening (trivia begins at 6:30pm). Play will take place in teams and there'll be a bar and pork and beef gravy rolls available on site, along with complimentary tea and coffee. Christmas In July Dinner - Kumbia
- A Christmas In July Dinner will be held at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia from 6:30pm until late tonight (dinner is served at 7:00pm). The get-together will feature a great three-course dinner prepared by J.C. Catering along with live entertainment, a licensed bar, raffles, carols and a peek at the past. Wooroolin Community Markets
- The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Nanango Men's Shed

Taste The Trail Bike Ride - Kingaroy To Wondai
- SOLD OUT: The South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association will be running the 5th annual Taste The Trail ride along the South Burnett Rail Trail between Kingaroy and Wondai this morning. At 8:00am, a maximum 50 cyclists will begin to assemble at O'Neill Square in Kingaroy for an 8:30am kick-off, with stops at Memerambi, Wooroolin and Tingoora tasting unusual local foods before the ride concludes with markerys and a lunch at the Wondai Hotel around 12:30pm. Note: This event is fully booked out.
Murgon Men's Shed
- The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Saturday Morning Tennis - Blackbutt

Winter Warmers Concert - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting the first performance of their Winter Warmers Concert at St Mary's Catholic Church at 15 Albert Street in Kingaroy at 2:00pm this afternoon. The concert will feature heart-warming old favourites and new contemporary songs and tickets - which include a cuppa - are just $15 per head (but U12s are free). They can be booked online or purchased at the door. Everyone is welcome!

- The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 9:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
Lovesong The Cabaret - Nanango
- Lovesong The Cabaret - a beautiful and emotionally evocative music theatre experience - will be performed at the Nanango Theatre Company's playhouse in Elk Street, Nanango, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon and again at 7:00pm tonight. The concert is part of a touring production featuring singers Samantha Paterson, James Lennox and Melissa Buchholz and was last performed at Toowoomba's Empire Theatre. Tickets are $30 for adults or $25 for concessions and they can be booked online or obtained at the door.
Frosty Dingo Rally - Wondai
- The second day of the three-day Frosty Dingo Rally will be held at the Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai today. The rally has been organised by the Leisure Riders Touring Motorcycle Club for motorcycle riders only and today's activities will feature a raffle, along with food vans and night-time entertainment by Merv McKee. Entry is $25 per person with a badge, and no cars or glass are allowed.

The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join. Junior Rugby League Day - Blackbutt
- With nearly all adult eyes focussed on this weekend's on the 47th Battalion carnival in Kingaroy, The Blackbutt-Yarraman Timbertowners rugby league football club will be staging U6s to U12s games this morning at Ian "Bunny" Pearce Oval in Railway Street, Blackbutt with the first games kicking off at 8:00am. In addition to a fun morning of junior footy there'll also be a BBQ running. Everyone is welcome!
Barrel Racing - Nanango
- The South Burnett Western Performance Club will be hosting "State Of Origin Barrel Races" at their grounds in Racecourse Road, Nanango today. Practice runs will occur from 8:30am to 9:30am before the action gets under way at 10:00am. Competitions will be run across six classes, there's no admission and spectators are very welcome.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Blackbutt
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Blackbutt in the small hall next to the church at the corner of Gladys and James streets from 1:30pm to 2:30pm every Saturday, with tea and coffee provided.
