All outstanding charges against well-known Moffatdale and Goomeri businessman Joe Prendergast have been formally dropped.
Mr Prendergast had been due to appear in Maroochydore District Court on October 23 after being indicted on four charges – including two counts alleging indecent treatment of a child under the age of 16 – earlier this year in Kingaroy.
However, the Court was told these charges would no longer proceed.
Earlier this year, other charges that Mr Prendergast had been due to face trial over were also discontinued by the Crown.
The Dusty Hill Vineyard owner – and former owner of the Goomeri Hotel – was first charged in June 2023, and at that time faced 16 charges.
Mr Prendergast always maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty and strongly contesting lower court proceedings.
