Tickets are selling fast for the Queensland Regional Rural Remote Women’s Network’s celebration of International Rural Women’s Day in the South Burnett.

The get-together will be held at The Firebreak, near Maidenwell, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 14.

Business owners, farmers, teachers, health professionals, volunteers, mothers, leaders and community builders – and more! – will be celebrating their connections at the “Connected By Country” event.

The evening aims to create a space for women to step away from the “busyness” of everyday life, connect with each another and celebrate the contribution rural women make to their families, workplaces, businesses and communities.

“We are so pleased to work with Melanie (McNaughton) and Kylea (Hodgkinson-Jones) to bring this event to the South Burnett, a historically key region for RRR Women,” QRRWN president Emma Clarke said.

“Supporting opportunities for women to connect like this are among our founding values. Excitingly, this event really is hyper-local, delivered by local women for local women. We can’t wait to celebrate the South Burnett on Rural Women’s Day.”

The evening will feature a panel conversation with South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff and local businesspeople Lynda Lange and Beck Cross to explore their stories, the people and places that have shaped them and their hopes for the region.

Melanie will compere the evening.

All South Burnett women are invited to come along, connect and celebrate together.

The Firebreak is located at 539 Maidenwell Upper Yarraman Road, Neumgna, and tickets to attend can be booked online
