Murgon detectives, with assistance from Task Force Argos, have charged a 45-year-old Wondai man after an investigation into alleged child grooming and drug trafficking.

The investigation began in August with detectives conducting extensive inquiries to locate the man.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between March and August this year and involved children aged between 14 and 15 from Australia and overseas.

As part of the investigation, police seized and examined a mobile phone on September 10.

Police will allege they located additional child exploitation material dating back to 2019.

The 45-year-old man was located and arrested in Wondai on Tuesday.

He has been charged with 49 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, eight counts of using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 years of age, four counts of use of carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16 years of age, two counts of distributing child exploitation material and one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs and possessing property used in connection with the commission of a drug trafficking offence.

He was remanded in custody and is due yo appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on November 3.

Investigations are continuing.
