Toowoomba Regional Council is inviting young people aged 14 to 18 to apply for its 2027 Regional Youth Leaders Program.
Applications close on July 31, 2026.
Cr James O’Shea said the program provided valuable opportunities for young people to build leadership skills, engage with their community and represent the voices of their peers.
“The Youth Leaders Program brings together 25 young people from across the region to learn about local government, connect with community organisations, and advocate on issues that matter to young people,” Cr O’Shea said.
To be eligible, applicants must be high school aged (14-18 years old as at December 31, 2027) and live, work or study within the Toowoomba Regional Council area.
They must also be able to attend monthly meetings, and participate in two training camps scheduled for September and December 2026.
