The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew airlifted a teenage boy to hospital on Saturday after a 4WD incident at Manar Park, near Boondooma.

The rescue helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10:04am.

It’s believed a branch from a fallen tree entered the cabin of a vehicle and impaled the patient in his leg, causing a deep cut.

He was treated on scene by his family and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.

The patient was then transported to a nearby helipad, where the LifeFlight helicopter airlifted him to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
