The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred at Widgee early on Friday morning.
About 12:30am, police were called to Gympie-Woolooga Road, near Little Widgee Road, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
The driver of the Holden Commodore, a 30-year-old Widgee man, was transported by ambulance to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition with head injuries.
The passenger, a 31-year-old Peregian Beach man, died at the scene.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has relevant dashcam vision or CCTV footage, to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
