Police have charged a man with attempted murder following investigations into an alleged incident at Linville on Sunday morning.
It will be alleged that about 1:20am, a 46-year-old Linville woman was assaulted by a 32-year-old Benarkin man who was known to her.
It will be further alleged the man held the woman so she could not leave the residence.
A police spokesperson said the Linville woman was transported to Caboolture Hospital for treatment and is receiving professional support.
The Benarkin man has been charged with six offences, including two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed (domestic violence offence), and one count each of attempted murder (domestic violence offence), torture (domestic violence offence) and deprivation of liberty (domestic violence offence).
He is expected to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.
