A large grass fire – believed to have been sparked by a slasher – came within 100 metres of a house and damaged electricity poles at Wooroolin on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said 12 fire crews, including a mix of urban and rural brigades, were called to the incident near Gustafsons Road.
The first crews arrived on the scene about 2:00pm.
A large amount of smoke was coming from the fire which was burning in a paddock.
Windy conditions were also whipping up the flames.
By 4:30pm, the blaze had burnt out between 80-100ha but was largely under control.
The landholder brought in a tractor to help put in containment lines.
Ergon Energy crews were also called to assess damage to electricity infrastructure.
The fire briefly reignited about 6:00pm, but was quickly brought back under control.
Firefighters remained on scene until about 8:00pm, continuing to dampen down the burnt area.
The QFD spokesperson said no injuries or damage to the house were reported.
