The South Burnett National Show Society – the not-for-profit association which owns the Kingaroy Showgrounds – has been working hard to update the facility.
The association received a $100,000 grant last year from the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
A new roof and gutters have been installed on the main Kucks Pavilion as well as upgrading the bore pump which provides irrigation for the showgrounds.
A number of equipment upgrades are also planned for the main canteen beside the show ring.
South Burnett Show Society president David Muller said the Kucks Pavilion had been built in the 1950s.
He said the upgrades would be finished well ahead of the 118th show which will be held on the first weekend in May.
