The State Government is seeking feedback on a draft management plan for feral pigs.

The Queensland Feral Pig Management Action Plan 2026–2031 aims to ensure a co-ordinated approach to tackling one of Queensland’s most destructive pest animals.

A government spokesperson said the draft was developed after regional workshops and consultations with stakeholders.

It aligns with the National Feral Pig Action Plan to ensure consistency with national objectives.

Primary Industries Minister Tony Perrett said feral pig management was not a “one-size-fits-all”.

“What works in Cape York won’t be the same as what’s needed in the Darling Downs,” he said.

“Collaboration is critical because everyone has a responsibility to take reasonable steps to manage feral pigs on land under their control.

“This is why we’re working with landholders, regional groups and industry to ensure this plan reflects real-world challenges and solutions on the ground.”

Copies of the draft plan, and information about how to provide feedback, is available online

Consultations close at 5:00pm on Thursday, March 12.
