Crop Dusters boot home a goal in their Grand Final win in Kingaroy Senior Soccer’s Sevens competition at the weekend

February 5, 2026

Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club’s massive Soccer Sevens carnival wrapped up on Sunday afternoon after two days of sizzling action across five fields.

The games were hotly contested but the temperature also tested players and spectators, with only a brief shower of rain providing some relief on Saturday.

The annual event has always been popular with south-east Queensland clubs, but numbers were up this year.

There were a total of 57 teams competing: 24 in the Men’s competition, 15 in the Women’s and 18 in the Over 35s.

The men’s and women’s teams were competing for cash prizes, while the Over 35s had their eyes set on the prize of free beer!

After two days of play, 24 teams had made it through to the Quarter-Finals (see below).

It was then down to semi-finals and the grand finals, played on Sunday afternoon.

Although several local teams contested the semi-finals, only one South Burnett team made it through to the Grand Final … Barambah which took on Highfields Gold in the Women’s event.

At half-time, Highfields were ahead 1-0 and despite Barambah’s efforts that remained the score at full-time.

The Men’s Grand Final was between Crop Dusters and Blackstone Rovers.

At half-time, the teams were locked at 1-all but Blackstone scored twice more to take the final score to 3-1.

The Over 35s Grand Final was between Gympie United OGs and Cap Coast Texans.

Neither found the net during regular play, which forced a tense penalty shootout which Cap Coast won 5-4.
