Detectives have charged a 17-year-old girl over a stabbing in Cherbourg on Saturday.
A police spokesperson said that àbout 6:00pm, police were called to an altercation on Bell Street where it will be alleged a 19-year-old Cherbourg woman was stabbed twice by the 17-year-old.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was initially treated at Cherbourg Hospital before being airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The 17-year-old Chrrbourg girl left the scene prior to police arriving but was arrested on Monday following police investigations.
She has been charged with grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife in a public place.
She was due to appear in Murgon Children’s Court on Tuesday.
