A 19-year-old woman suffered serious stab wounds during an incident in Cherbourg on Saturday night.
A police spokesperson confirmed an altercation between two people occurred in Bell Street about 6:00pm.
A woman, who contacted southburnett.com.au on Saturday night, said she was in a vehicle with a young relative and saw the incident occur.
She said the teenage woman was stabbed with a knife – “like a steak knife” – by a second girl.
She also alleged the local police station was unmanned at the time despite earlier tensions during the day in the community.
Police said investigations into the wounding were continuing and no one had been charged as yet.
Detectives have urged anyone with relevant information or footage to contact police.
