More than $6800 was raised at the South Burnett Mayor’s Community Christmas Lunch held in Kingaroy earlier this month,
All the proceeds raised will be donated to South Burnett families.
IGA vouchers – which can be used at any IGA across the region – have been purchased and will be distributed by local charity organisations.
Mayor Kathy Duff thanked the generous support of the community, volunteers, local businesses and sponsors who contributed to the success of the lunch.
The lunch was supported by local QCWA groups, Sunpork, Peries IGA Kingaroy, BCF, Bega, Bunnings, Coppards, Deb Frecklington MP, Good Price Pharmacy, Harvey Norman, Jamaica Blue, Kingaroy RSL, Little Butcher, Muffin Break, Wholelife Chemist, Hillview Cottages, Amethyst Moon, Whimsey and Wonder, Linard Florist, SG’s Hair Design, Deepfeet, Whipbird Café, Martoo Meats, Amiches Hair Salon, Cathy Freeman, Somethings Country, Royal Hotel Murgon, Kay Apparel, Carrollee Hotel, Windmill Bakery and the South Burnett Regional Council.
Guest speaker was Sonia McMahon, from Rockin our Abilities, and the group also sang a medley of songs. Other music was provided by Cr Jane Erkens and Friends of the Shed Nanango.
Food for the two-course meal was supplied by the Peries IGA Kingaroy and Sunpork, and prepared and served by QCWA volunteers.
