A closure notice on the door of a shop in Alford Street, Kingaroy

November 28, 2025

Two shops in Kingaroy selling tobacco products have been ordered to close for three months following visits from Queensland Health officers last week.

The two shops, in Alford and Haly streets, were ordered to close immediately for 90 days from November 26.

southburnett.com.au understands this is the third time the two stores have been raided this year by health officials looking for illegal vapes or nicotine products.

A Darling Downs Health spokesperson said there was no information available yet as to what had been allegedly found during the latest visit by officials.

The closure of the two shops provoked an immediate reaction on social media, with commenters wrongly blaming police for the closures and suggesting towns where smokers could still purchase cheap cigarettes.
