South Burnett councillors have formally adopted the 2025 Community Plans developed for various towns and villages across the region.

The plans – for Blackbutt-Benarkin, Bunya Mountains, Coolabunia, Crawford, Durong, Hivesville, Kingaroy, Kumbia, Maidenwell, Memerambi, Moffatdale, Murgon, Nanango, Proston, Tingoora, Wondai, Wooroolin and Other Localities (ie. Ballogie, Cloyna, Coverty, Goodger, Ironpot, Mondure, Wheatlands and Windera) – aim to identify the key priorities for each town and village.

They will be used to guide future decision-making by council.

Seven community meetings were held across the region in April and May this year to collect initial ideas, followed by another nine sessions to provide feedback on draft plans.

The meetings were hosted by Councillors and Council staff.

A motion that Council adopt the Community Strategic Plan 2025-2035 was passed unanimously by councillors on Wednesday.

The Community Plans will be available to download from Council’s website.
