The Murgon Music Muster was one of 13 not-for-profit groups to receive a South Burnett Regional Council community grant

Grants totalling $27,297.81 were approved for community groups under Round 1 of the South Burnett Regional Council’s 2025-26 Community Grants Program.

Councillors were told at Council’s November general meeting that 14 applications had been assessed by the Community Grants Assessment Panel with 13 were approved, although not all the applicants received the amount they had sought.

The successful applicants were:

  • Brisbane Valley Rail Heritage Trails Inc – Brisbane Valley History Expo – $2000
  • Hivesville Progress Association – Hivesville Honeybee Festival – $2000
  • Kingaroy and District Tennis Association Inc – Construction of amenities block – $3000
  • Kingaroy Show Society Inc – Outdoor barbecue area – $1500
  • Kingaroy Tai Chi Inc – PA system – $1000
  • Proston PAH (Proston Show Society) – Subsidise rides – $2500
  • Qld Dairy & Heritage Museum – 2 x roadside signs – $3000
  • Rotary Club of Murgon – Murgon Music Muster – $3000
  • SB Gem & Fossicking Club Inc – Gem show 2026 – $3000
  • SB Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group – Laughter Clinic and Winter Warmers Comedy Night – $3000
  • The Mindful Harvest – Green connections for plants & fencing – $1000
  • Wondai Lions Club – Security camera electricity in Wondai – $1143.17
  • Wondai Hospital Auxiliary – Outdoor seating – $1154.64
