The Federal Government’s House of Representatives Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport is inviting submissions examining the funding and financial sustainability of local councils.
The committee inquiry aims to gain a deeper understanding of the financial relationship between local government and other levels of government in Australia, and how funding arrangements affect councils’ ability to deliver services and invest in infrastructure.
The committee is seeking written submissions by February 3, 2026, from organisations and individuals relating to any of the inquiry’s Terms of Reference
