The current musical playground in Coronation Park

November 8, 2025

South Burnett Regional Council has invited Wondai residents to provide feedback about the redevelopment of the playground at Coronation Park.

A Council spokesperson said the aim was to ensure the new playground meets the needs and expectations of families and children in the area.

An information display will be setup at Wondai Library which will have feedback forms which can be filled in.

Council staff will also be available at the Wondai Library to chat with residents on:

  • Wednesday, November 12 – 10:00am to noon
  • Thursday, November 13 – 10:00am to noon
  • Wednesday, November 19 – 10:00am to noon
  • Thursday, November 20 – 10:00am to noon

Councillors and Council staff will also be at the Wondai Country Markets on Saturday, November 22, between 6:00am to 9:00am.

“I’m really excited about a new playground for Wondai which will be fantastic for our region,” Deputy Mayor Ros Heit said.

“I’m looking forward to hearing the ideas of locals to incorporate into the plan.”

The works are being funded by the State Government through the Works for Queensland Program.

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington praised Council’s commitment to revitalising the park.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Wondai families to help shape a space that will bring joy to children for years to come,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“Safe, inclusive play areas are vital for regional communities, and I’ll be backing this project every step of the way.”

One Response to "Council Seeks Feedback On Park"

  1. Hopefully your council isn’t like the Dalby council who refuse to listen to the residents and who want to destroy the centre town park and playground, to put an underground car park and a cultural centre instead of rebuilding on original site. Original site has very few residents around it, whereas the current parkland is surrounded by residents.
