Maidenwell residents have shared their ideas with the South Burnett Regional Council about the future of the steam roller currently located near the Maidenwell Oval.
Councillors met with residents on site last Thursday after Council was approached with an offer to acquire the vehicle for restoration.
The consensus from the meeting was that residents would prefer that the steam roller, which has been a Maidenwell icon for decades, be repainted and perhaps relocated into the centre park.
This will now be considered by Council.

Do you know anything about the history of the Maidenwell roller? It has been suggested it belonged to Nobby Smith, and that it broke down about 60 years ago while working on the Maidenwell-Bunya Mountains Road.
