A 23-year-old Proston man was allegedly watching a video on a mobile device when he was pulled over by police in Murgon last Thursday.
A police spokesperson said the man’s 2001 Toyota Hilux was stopped by police after it was clocked doing 52km/h in a 40km/h school zone in Gore Street.
The man was issued with a $500 traffic tickets and lost three demerit points.
On the same day, police intercepted a Toyota Hilux allegedly travelling at 116km/h in a 100km/h zone on the New England Highway at Wutal.
The driver, a 32-year-old Newtown man, was issued with a $500 fine and lost three demerit points.
A short time later police intercepted the same driver allegedly travelling at 115km/h in a 100km/h zone on the New England Highway at Upper Yarraman.
He received another $500 fine and lost three more demerit points.
The man also allegedly returned a positive roadside drug test.
He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on December 15.
A total of 250 lives have been lost on Queensland roads so far this year, including 24 in the Darling Downs District which includes the South Burnett.
