Kingaroy’s National Australia Bank branch reopened for business on Monday after a $2.6 million, two-month renovation which has completely updated the look and feel of the business.
Gone is the external ATM machine, replaced by two ATMs inside the branch which will still be accessible 24/7.
The internal ATMs offer greater safety and privacy for customers.
Recently appointed Branch Manager Michael Everson said the refurbishment had also included the bringing together of retail and business banking.
Everything inside the branch is new, with a large open-plan layout welcoming customers.
Mr Everson said the branch previously had three or four retail staff members; this had now risen to six.
A “digital desk” area has also been set aside for people to do digital banking if they do not have access to a smart device, but staff are also on hand to guide people through the process.
Mr Everson said NAB would especially like to thank Kingaroy businessman Gary Barron for the use of the land where they placed their “Bank In A Box” during the renovation project.
“Our Kingaroy branch has been here for more than 100 years and a hub for our community,” Mr Everson said.
“After spending $2.6 million, we aren’t going anywhere.”
