Police are investigating following reports of fake $50 and $100 notes being circulated throughout Kingaroy over the past two weeks.
Police have received reports of the fake notes being used to make purchases at a grocery store on Avoca Street on September 17, a fuel station on Youngman Street on September 29 and a fast-food store on Haly Street on October 1.
Inspections of the fake notes showed them to be printed on paper bearing the word “PROPS” with various serial numbers.
A police spokesperson urged residents and businesses to be careful when handling notes and report any suspicious circumstances as soon as possible.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information that may assist ongoing investigations to contact PoliceLink on 131-444.
