Police are still awaiting the results of DNA tests to determine if human remains found near Maidenwell earlier this month belong to missing Brisbane man Andrew Burow.
A spokesperson said the “potential” human remains were yet to be formally identified.
Andrew Burow, 56, disappeared from Kelvin Grove on August 21.
His disappearance was reported to police three days later.
On August 27, Brisbane detectives established Operation Veer to investigate.
Police and SES volunteers blocked off a section of Brooklands-Pimpimbudgee Road on September 2-3 while searchers scoured the area.
An area alongside the D’Aguilar Highway on the Blackbutt Range was also declared a crime scene.
Police investigating Mr Burow’s disappearance have charged two men – Billy Howard, 26, from North Lakes; and Anthony Perrett, 48, from Sippy Downs – with one count each of torture.
The pair are due to reappear in court on October 13. They have not been charged with any other offence.
