South Burnett Regional Council has invited the local community to comment on what playground equipment should be installed at Memerambi.

Council has allocated $100,000 for playground development to be placed in the grassed area alongside the rail trail.

This is part of $895,303 received by Council from the State Government’s 2024-27 Works For Queensland program.

Councillors and Council staff will be in the park from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturday, October 4, to discuss ideas for playground equipment.

“Memerambi has a lot of young families and I’m looking forward to this first stage of a playground in the village, allowing these young families to have a place to meet and build connections,” Deputy Mayor Ros Heit said.

“Many people ride the rail trail and play equipment here would be an attraction for them. I’m hoping with a new playground, the shop in Memerambi opens, assisting economic development for the village.

“I’m looking forward to talking to local residents and school children to get their ideas on what they would like in Memerambi. I encourage everyone to consider the best option and complete the survey by 5:00pm on Monday, October 27.”

  • Residents unable to attend the meeting can fill in an online survey.
