Three fire crews were called after reports of a fire at the Fitzroy Hotel in Nanango on Sunday afternoon.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said it was believed the fire was in one of the lower rooms of the two-storey structure.
It had been extinguished before firefighters arrived; crews remained on site to help ventilate the building to clear remaining smoke.

A vehicle involved in a crash just outside Kingaroy on Friday morning was destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to the initial crash on the Bunya Highway about 3:50am on Friday.
Two people were taken to hospital.
The wrecked sedan, which had NSW registration plates, was then left beside the highway, near Geritz Road.
At 5:40am on Saturday, two fire crews were called after reports it was on fire.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and then made sure the flames did not spread into grassland.
They left the scene about 6:30am.
