Blackbutt police will be working out of Yarraman Police Station temporarily while a $150,000 upgrade is under way at their ageing station.

Police will continue to provide mobile patrols and maintain a presence in the Blackbutt area throughout the upgrade period.

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington welcomed the start of the long-overdue upgrades to the station, saying it was a significant win for the local community.

“I have fought to upgrade the Blackbutt Police Station for many years, and I’m proud to announce that we are delivering,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“This upgrade means officers will have access to the facilities they need to do their jobs effectively, while also creating a private and secure environment for those seeking help, especially victims of domestic and family violence.”

The project is expected to be completed by mid-December 2025.
