The Murgon Blue Light branch is looking for people eager to make a positive impact in the lives of young people in the community.

Queensland Blue Light is a not-for-profit organisation that has supported youth through drug and alcohol-free programs and activities since 1984.

Senior Constable Danielle Gordon said young people were mentored by police and civilian volunteers to steer them away from criminal and anti-social behaviours.

Volunteer activities include planning and preparing of events such as Blue Light discos, selling tickets, promoting events, canteen duties, attending committee meetings where possible and supervising youth.

A Blue Card is desired but not essential as it can be obtained through the Blue Light Association prior to supervision activities.

For more information, contact Senior Constable Gordon at Murgon Police Station on (07) 4179-5222.
