Police have charged a 25-year-old woman in relation to alleged stalking and fraud offences involving a 37-year-old Kingaroy man and a 31-year-old Tara man.
It will be alleged on two separate occasions between January and March, the woman befriended the men through social media channels before engaging in a short-term relationship with them.
It is alleged she then proceeded to stalk the men, sending them large numbers of messages falsely claiming to be pregnant and seeking money for medical expenses.
The woman also allegedly sent fake ultrasound images and medical documentation months later falsely claiming she had given birth before demanding more money for medical expenses.
A 25-year-old Tugun woman has been charged with 16 offences, including five counts of fraud, four counts each of forgery and uttering, and one count each of stalking, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
She has been remanded in custody to reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 19.
Police investigations are continuing into the woman’s activities as detectives believe there may be more people who may have been contacted by her through social media, specifically in the Gold Coast area.
Anyone who may have information that may assist ongoing investigations are urged to contact police on 131-444.
