An innocent motorist was killed in a fiery crash north of Gympie on Saturday afternoon after his vehicle was slammed into by a stolen car, allegedly driven by a 20-year-old Kilkivan man.
The Kilkivan driver also died at the scene.
A police spokesperson said initial investigations were that a stolen black MG sedan had been overtaking vehicles at speed on Gympie-Curra Road at Chatsworth.
The MG sideswiped a black Toyota sedan before hitting a third vehicle, a silver Holden Commodore.
The Holden flipped and caught on fire, killing the driver, a 50-year-old man from The Palms.
Emergency services were called to the three-vehicle crash about 3:00pm.
A police spokesperson said the Forensic Crash Unit was investigating the crash.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
