Farming lobby group AgForce has named former Australian Organic CEO Niki Ford as its new Chief Executive Office.
She replaces Mike Guerin who announced in April that he would step down after eight years in the role.
Ms Ford, who grew up on the Darling Downs, has also held roles as chair of the Australian Food Network and a director of Ag Institute Australia.
“I’ve always admired how AgForce stands with producers and advocates on their behalf,” Ms Ford said.
“Leading an organisation with a proud 25 year legacy, and helping shape it’s next chapter of growth is a deeply exciting opportunity.”
Ms Ford will start in her new role on September 29.
AgForce general president Shane McCarthy said he was looking forward to exciting times ahead with the change in leadership.
“Niki brings a wealth of knowledge from previous roles that will be advantageous to AgForce going forward,” he said.
“We had a lot of nominations for the role and a lot of outstanding nominations but Niki rose to the top.”
Mr McCarthy also paid tribute to Mr Guerin’s leadership and ensuring a smooth handover.
“He’s had a substantial impact on the organisation and industry during this time,” he said.
“He has been our longest serving CEO and leaves the organisation in strong shape and with our collective best wishes.”
