Two women have been injured – one critically – and a horse killed in a collision involving a horse-drawn carriage at Nanango on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called  to the corner of Greenwood Creek Road and Old Esk Road about 9:30am after reports a vehicle and a carriage had collided.

A QAS spokesperson said three people were assessed at the scene, including two women aged in their 60s.

One woman was transported in a stable condition to Kingaroy Hospital with a leg injury.

The second woman suffered life-threatening head injuries and was also taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital.

The third person was not injured.

A motorbike rider, aged in his 50s, suffered chest injuries in a crash on Gayndah-Hivesville Road at Abbeywood on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called after reports a motorbike had struck a kangaroo.

The man was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with chest injuries.
