The South Burnett Saints’ men’s team resurrected their old Kingaroy Bulldogs’ strip for their annual nod to the past last Saturday.
The club’s annual Heritage Day at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy – their last home game for 2025 – also recognised the 10th anniversary of the Saints’ historic first premiership win in the Darling Downs AFL competition in September 2015.
Players from that side gathered together for a special 10-year reunion.
All three South Burnett teams faced tough opposition on the paddock from the Toowoomba Tigers, with just two goals in it for the men’s clash.
Results:
- Under 13.5s Mixed: Tigers 8.13-61 def. Saints 0.3-3
- Women: Tigers 4.6-30 def. Saints 1.2-8
- Men: Tigers 10.9-69 def. Saints 8.8-56
This Saturday, all three teams will be facing Coolaroo in the last round of the regular season at Rockville Park in Toowoomba.
It will be the last for 2025 for the men’s and junior teams, although the Saints’ women look to have earned a berth in the semi-finals.
