Police have charged two men over the alleged theft of copper and other property after reports of suspicious activity at Burra Burri.

About 5:30pm on Tuesday, police received reports that two men were acting suspiciously at a makeshift campsite on Burra Burri-Darr Creek Road.

A short time later, about 7:00pm, police were conducting patrols when they intercepted a Toyota LandCruiser towing a trailer along Jandowae Connection Road at Jandowae.

When officers searched the vehicle, it is alleged they found a large amount of suspected stolen scrap copper along with air conditioning units and power tools.

A 36-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from Dalby, were arrested and taken into custody.

They have both been charged with receiving tainted property and were due to appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Investigations are continuing into where the alleged stolen property was taken from.
