That’s got to hurt … but probably not as much as the final result!

University Cougars – in second place on the Darling Downs AFL ladder – were too strong for the Saints’ men at Lyle Vidler Oval last Saturday.

As the rain came down, the South Burnett team battled on gamely but finished goalless, 16.7-103 to 0.5-5.

The Saints’ women, however, came away victorious, downing Cougars 4.7-31 to 3.4-22.

Saints’ goalkickers included Kiara Wright and Chloe Pollard.

The U13.5s also did well, although missing out on the win: 10.7-67 to 4.7-31.

Goals were kicked by Charlie van Schyndel, Deegan Johannessen, Hayden McCrea and Rosalee Sloan.

This weekend, the three Saints’ teams are scheduled to face the Goondiwindi Hawks in Goondiwindi.
