The community artwork created during the recent NAIDOC Week celebration in Kingaroy will be on display soon in the Kingaroy Library.
A Council spokesperson said the work would then be moved around the region and hung in different Council buildings for others to enjoy.
The work, guided by Cherbourg artists Robert and Robyn Langton, reflects the 2025 NAIDOC theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”.
People attending the NAIDOC event in Memorial Park – both young and old – added their handprints (and even footprints) to the canvas.
The handprints represent the next generation, power, strength and the action of communicating together.
The yarning circles represent the strength unity and vision of everyone coming together sharing stories, songs and art.
The project was funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the State Government and the South Burnett Regional Council to support local arts and culture.
