The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) will be holding a National Grower Network (NGN) forum in Kingaroy on August 27.
It is one of a series being held across northern NSW and southern and central Queensland.
The forums aim to give growers and industry professionals an opportunity to influence future GRDC research priorities.
The forum will be facilitated by GRDC grower relations managers Sally Dickinson, Charleton Glenn, Jon Baird and Hayley Robinson; and crop protection manager Michael Thompson.
Ms Robinson said the focus was to listen closely to pinpoint the challenges growers face and where they saw untapped opportunities.
“Think of the NGN as the front door to GRDC. It’s where growers and advisers can walk in, have their say and help steer the direction of our work,” she said.
“NGN is a collaborative process where growers, consultants and GRDC work together to identify and shape local projects. This ensures that initiatives are relevant investments that meet the unique needs and conditions of the local area.”
The forums also give GRDC a chance to share local and national research results with growers.
“The forums spotlight trials, workshops and tools, practical things that help growers make decisions, manage risk and keep innovating,” Ms Robinson said.
