The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating what caused a traffic crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at Colinton on Thursday night which left two men seriously injured.
Emergency services were called to the incident just after 7:00pm.
A police spokesperson said a Ford Falcon sedan and a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV collided near Nurinda Road.
The Ford driver – 19-year-old man from Glass House Mountains – suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
A QAS spokesperson said the teenager had life-threatening abdominal injuries.
The Hyundai driver – a 38-year-old man from Hodgleigh – suffered serious head injuries.
He was also airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Two LifeFlight rescue helicopters were despatched to the incident and managed to land nearby.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have relevant information or dashcam vision to contact PoliceLink on 131-444.
The D’Aguilar Highway was closed for about three hours while emergency services were on the scene.
