Tourism & Events Queensland (TEQ) has recognised Murgon’s unique fossil museum and art gallery, 55 Million Years Ago, with a special accolade.
A logo which proclaims “The Best Of Queensland Experience 2025” and “Recommended by travellers” has been placed on the 55 Millions Years Ago page on TEQ’s official website.
This State Government-run website markets Queensland attractions and events to local and international tourists.
55 Million Years Ago, in Macalister Street, Murgon, offers interactive displays in its fossil museum as well as exhibitions which change every two months in its art gallery.
TEQ has described 55 Million Years Ago as “the perfect stop” for travellers to drop in and discover Murgon’s secrets, “ancient and everlasting”.
A new hologram exhibit was opened in the museum earlier this year.
Footnote: The latest art exhibition at the gallery will be officially opened this Saturday afternoon (June 21) with an “Elegant Afternoon Tea”.
