No senior rugby league games were played in the South Burnett last weekend due to the Magic Round in Brisbane.
However, a full round of junior games, from Under 6s to Under 12s, was played at Ian “Bunny” Pearce Oval in Blackbutt.
As well, three competition round games were played:
- In Under 14s, Kingaroy defeated 16-14 while Nanango downed Chinchilla 28-10
- In Under 19s, Gatton defeated the South Burnett Eagles 34-12
This Saturday, the Nanango Stags will be hosting the South Burnett Rugby League junior games (see below).
The next round of SBRL senior games will be played on May 17 at Murgon Showgrounds.

The South Burnett will have three girls’ teams playing in the Toowoomba Junior Rugby League competition this year: Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s.
Round 1 games will be played on May 24.

At Nanango
Junior games (U6s to U12s) will get under way from 8:00am with the last U12s game kicking off at 5:00pm.
- 12:30pm – Under 19s – South Burnett Eagles v Highfields
- 6:00pm – Under 14s – Nanango v Kingaroy
At Highfields
- 9:40am – Under 15s – South Burnett v Goondiwindi
- 9:40am – Under 16s – South Burnett v Highfields
- 10:50am – Under 17s – South Burnett v Goondiwindi
- Noon – Under 15/16s – South Burnett v Oakey
At Chinchilla
- 11:00am – Under 14s – Cherbourg v Chinchilla
