The day-use area at Bjelke-Petersen Dam will close temporarily later this month to allow Sunwater to upgrade the public toilets and shelters.
A Sunwater announcement said work was expected to begin on April 28 and take about eight weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.
“The facilities will remain closed during this time to allow the safe completion of work,” the statement said.
“Alternative facilities including toilets, will be available for public use at the Bjelke-Petersen Caravan and Recreational Park, located next to the tennis court off Haager Drive and marked with signage. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these works.”
The project has been made possible as part of a Queensland Government program to upgrade recreation facilities at popular dam and weir sites across the state.
