Upgrades to Lions Park in Nanango, which became necessary after storm damage and vandalism, have been completed thanks to a grant secured by the Nanango Lions Club.
South Burnett Regional Council assisted the club in applying for the grant from the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The upgrades include two new wheelchair-friendly table settings, a wheelchair-friendly barbecue and shelter, new concrete paths and shadecloth over the playground.
Council topped up the grant with funding from its capital works program.
“It is exciting to see the upgrades to the park that will create an accessible space for all to enjoy,” Deputy Mayor Jane Erkens said.
