What could be better than having your choice of thousands of quality books to buy at bargain basement prices?

Perhaps, having the opportunity to enjoy a drink and a few nibbles, too, before you start browsing …

That’s what the VIPs enjoyed on Friday night at the launch of the 2025 Bookarama in Kingaroy Town Hall.

For just $10 a head – with numbers strictly limited – guests enjoyed first pick at the thousands of books available to buy, as well as music, DVDs, puzzles and games.

Bookarama is a fundraiser for the St John’s School P&F, which took over running the popular annual event in 2020.

Volunteers and school students worked hard in the lead-up to the weekend to sort out the books and place them neatly on the tables.

And as items were sold, the tables were quickly restacked from the many boxes still available.

The main days of Bookarama were Saturday and Sunday when admission was free … and there were still thousands of items available to buy!
