Heritage Nanango Community Branch has stepped up again to support the upcoming 116th Nanango Show and Bull Ride.
Nanango AP & M Society successfully applied to the branch’s grants program to help with sideshow alley vouchers, the fireworks display and bull ride for the show, which will be held on April 12.
Show Society president Les Schloss said the show was one of the highlights of the year in Nanango.
“Agricultural shows are a hub for community engagement,” he said.
“It is great to see locals supporting locals and we are very grateful to receive this grant from Heritage. Without it and the added sponsorship from the Fitzroy Hotel we would not have been able to subsidise rides in sideshow alley.
“The grant helped ease some of the financial pressures and we’re looking forward to a great event.”
Thanks to the sponsorship from Heritage and the Fitzroy, children and high school students (with ID) will receive four free sideshow tickets, valued at $4.00 each, when accompanied by a paying adult or with paid entry (capped at 1000).
The show will also feature all the usual events, including livestock and horse events, a stockhorse challenge on the Friday, children’s entertainment, trotting, chainsaw races, and, of course, the bullride on Saturday afternoon.
And the family favourite, Heritage fireworks, will be back this year on Saturday night, followed by live entertainment until late by local rockers Mr Q.
Admission tickets for this year’s Nanango Show are: Adults $25, pensioners $15, high school student with ID $10, family pass $50 (2 adults, 2 high school children); primary school students and younger children, if accompanied by a paying adult, free.
