Fire crews are working to protect buildings on either side of the former National Bank building in Hart Street, Blackbutt, which became engulfed in flames on Friday evening.
At 7:50pm, there were four urban units and three rural units working to control the flames and stop them from reaching other structures.
Fire crews were called to the vacant bank building just after 7:00pm.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said the structure was well-involved in fire when crews arrived on the scene.
The building is believed to have sat vacant since the former occupant died.
It had been converted into a private residence.
