A public meeting held at Nukku Nook in Blackbutt last Thursday night has decided to press ahead with re-establishing the Blackbutt Tennis Club and reintroducing the sport to the town.

The group now plan to gather community support to resurface the town’s existing tennis courts and create an active tennis club.

An open invitation is extended to all interested community members to attend the Annual General Meeting on September 3 at Nukku Nook, commencing at 7:00pm.

Blackbutt and Benarkin residents can also support the push to re-establish the tennis club by calling into Blackbutt News or Blackbutt Hardware, completing a membership form and paying a $5 membership fee.

Donations will also be gratefully accepted, and contribute towards raising much-needed money to restore Blackbutt’s Tennis Court to full, creating a sporting and social avenue for the district which has produced many great tennis players over the years.

Interested people are also welcome to phone Iris Crumpton for more information on 0418-741-254.
