The Kingaroy RSL Club has received a $200,000 grant to put towards its major kitchen renovations.

The amount was the largest distributed in Round 4 of the State Government’s “Queensland Remembers” grant program.

The kitchen program has been estimated to cost almost $1 million, with the club contributing $800,000 from its own funds.

The upgrade will also improve accessibility and safety by redesigning the meal ordering area.

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington welcomed the grant.

“This venue is such a key spot for our community to connect, whether it’s a meal after a hard day at work or a celebration with family and friends,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“I know the grant will be put to great use by the RSL and when the kitchen upgrade is finished, I’m looking forward to sitting down to an even better steak.”

Assistant Manager Rowena Dionysius said the club was excited to introduce state-of-the-art equipment.

“A modern kitchen will greatly improve workflow, allow us to cater for larger functions and ensure future sustainability,” Rowena said.
