The Bunya Mountains Community Association is one of 27 groups across Queensland to receive a grant from the Ergon-Energex Community Fund.

The not-for-profit group will receive $4900 to buy a  satellite phone to ensure support staff at the local Critical Incident Control Centre can contact emergency services as part of their disaster preparedness.

The 2025 Ergon-Energex Community Fund offered grants of up to $10,000 to make a difference in communities across Queensland.

The Glastonbury Hall & Recreation Association also received a grant in the latest round.

The group will receive $4270 for an electrical upgrade of the 104- year-old community-owned hall so it can accommodate solar and metering upgrades.
